Last weekend was history. Four and a half days left before it is Saturday. Should I be counting the days left or am I just being excited? It is not like I have not driven a car before. Maybe, it is because I do not have a car to drive for a year and a half. I have not been myself since Saturday. I do not really know what I am thinking about but still, my mind is occupied. I have to stay focus right now.
I almost overslept this morning but still managed to board the bus on time. Weather is nice, bright and sunny. Hehe, my sister did mention to me that I always talk about weather in almost all my posts. Well, what can I do? I am facing a window while I work and any changes to the weather will be quite noticeable. Thus, whenever I type something, I will be looking out the window naturally.
Hmmm…. I did not really explain a lot about Saturday’s happenings. First, I took the wrong train and that cost me an additional hour to reach my sister’s place. When I board on the train, I was busy playing PSP until I realized that the train had reached Crystal Palace.
Before that, I thought of getting myself a McDonald meal with a voucher but they were serving breakfast and the voucher is not available during breakfast. Thus, I thought that I would reach my sister’s place at around 1230 and I would have 30 minutes time to eat something before my sister came back from work. However, I took the wrong train. In the end, I only had toasted bread and a glass of milk.
I was quite tired at the end of the day because from 0800 until 1800, I only had a glass of juice, a glass of milk and toasted bread. Well, I reached Basingstoke around 1800 and I went to McDonald again to get myself a meal. I then walked to Mee’s workplace and ate the burger while waiting for Mee. Hopefully, this Saturday will be easy to me.
Yesterday’s test driving mission was not able to proceed successfully. I had arranged a few appointments with different traders but some of them are quite faraway from my sister’s place while some of them could not be contacted last minute. We ended up viewing only one car which was not in good conditions; few scratches, one broken lamp and not so clean upholstery.
We were supposed to view one nearby but was told that the car was sent for valeting. It is a process of cleaning the car inside and outside thoroughly. We waited the whole day but the car will only be available today.
Hence, again, I traveled to my sister’s place today just to view and test drive the car. Overall, the car was good and we ended up paying deposit and will be collecting the car next Saturday. Quite a quick decision but since the price was within my budget and the car service history was acceptable, we did not think that there were any more issues to discuss about. I even video called Mee during her break at work so that she could have a look at the car as well.
My mission right now is to look for a nice insurance quote.
Again, hopefully, it was a right decision.
Oh yeah, I bought a Tomtom One V3 yesterday at Argos. And just today, I read a news saying that a girl died because the ambulance’s sat nav showed the driver a longer route. Soon after that, the sat nav packed up and the driver picked up the wrong turn and got lost eventually.
When we were in Scotland, my friends borrowed Tomtom One from another friend and it had managed to direct us to whichever destination we set up. There had been a little misleading case where it showed us another road in contrast with the road sign. We decided to follow the road sign, though and the Tomtom kept urging us to make a U-turn for umpteen times and we wondered if it would start swearing because we did not follow its instructions.
Sometimes, it just makes people wonder if we should trust the sat nav. I remember when I first worked as a support in Malaysia; all I did was to follow the directions mapped out by my manager. Later on, I depended on maps which were quite useful and eventually, I was able to recognize most of the roads and places.
Now, technology evolves and I will be using Tomtom sat nav once I get my first car in UK. Well, I have seen drivers in Malaysia using sat nav too but not many.
The day has come. I am having a day off tomorrow. There have been a few additions of used cars in AutoTraders and the prices are average. Hope that I will get a better deal tomorrow.
Well, the weather has been good since morning. It seems like it was going to rain but nothing happen in the end. It is bright and sunny at the moment.
Talking about the server, the process completed without any problems yesternight. Thus, I am able to carry on with my work today without worrying data that might not be updated without the completion of the project.
I have uploaded a bunch of photos to my photo gallery database but most of them are in the draft page. So far, it works as it is configured. Soon, I will be able to make it live. Mee has tested it just now and I believe that she will have some questions to ask me when we meet.
A rapper was held face-down at gunpoint by police in a case of mistaken identity. Well, what a mistaken identity. Obviously, this will scare the hell out of anyone. I wonder how the rapper, named Zuby, was able to digest the whole ordeal. Bad dream as described by Zuby. While this incident happened at Bournemouth train station, there was another report indicating that the incident happened at Basingstoke train station. Or maybe it was just typo.

The server processes were halted and we have decided to leave it overnight and hopefully, it will not cause any problem after tonight. Or hopefully, the server will not shutdown unexpectedly again. I will have some internal training tomorrow with another department so that I can understand their nature of work and will be able to help them in case they are short of staff. Well, actually, there are only two people in that department.
Anyway, I am glad to help because it is all about knowledge gaining and also something to do with the system.
By the way, I felt really tired yesterday. Maybe because I worked from 0830 until 2000 and after that, I walked home. The bus service runs on every one hour after 1915 during weekdays. I did not leave the college on time and most probably I would not be able to reach the bus station at 2015. Hence, I walked home. When I reached my house, the 2015 bus arrived too.
I have not been updating my tasks list for ages. Things like photo gallery, Initial D project and Scotland trip have been in pending stage. Excuses are a lot but there is only one word to describe; LAZY. Okay, I am lazy.
However, I have found the ultimate photo gallery now. It is called Phormer. It is free, customizable, easy to navigate, easy to upload and lots more. Thus, I will not be testing and searching for other galleries now. I have resized most of the pictures to 800 X 600 resolutions so that I keep the picture database small and load faster.

It has been raining since morning. Everyone seems to be busy tidying up yesterday’s enrolment work. Me? The server was down unexpectedly and I have to rerun the overnight process which will take approximately three hours. I have a few reports to check through but have to wait for the process to complete before I can get the accurate data out of it.
Mee planned to go to Morrisons this morning because they have some great promotions going on until Sunday. When Mee reached there yesterday evening, all the stocks were ran out but the question was, ‘did the stocks actually run out or otherwise?’ But I wonder if she has wakened up by now because the weather now is best for sleeping.
I am back in my office now. The very first thing that my colleagues asked about my holiday was the weather. Well, I thought the weather was good, bright and sunny most of the time even though the blowing wind made us cold. But the weather in Basingstoke changes a lot. Yesterday was very hot when we reached home, but it was raining in the morning today.
Mee and I are very tired and I was not able to get up on time today and wished that I could have extended my leaves. Anyway, I am here now and have to get back to work.
